Why Does Hypochlorous Acid Smell Like Chlorine?

That mild, chlorine-like scent is actually a sign of how active the formula is. Lumi Derma contains pure Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl), which has a naturally light, clean scent.

We choose not to add synthetic fragrances to mask it, as perfumes can irritate sensitive skin and reduce the stability of the formula. The scent is a sign that the molecule is active and working—not a flaw to cover up.

Lumi Derma is intentionally fragrance-free. We don’t mask or dilute our formulation with added scents, because doing so can compromise the potency of hypochlorous acid.
